Towers
Carpenter & Cross is capable of handling all of your structural needs for a telecommunications tower. Whether your tower is a monopole, self-support, guyed tower, water tank or another unique structure Carpenter & Cross is here to help. Our staff of experienced engineers can design or analyze an existing tower and its foundation in accordance with the applicable TIA/EIA standard. If a tower or foundation does not meet this standard our staff can quickly design modifications which can be installed to strengthen the structure. Our services include but are not limited to:
Tower Design
Our team will provide a tower design in accordance with either the Electronics Industry Association EIA/TIA-222-F 1996 Standard or the TIA-222-G-2 2009 Standard for the proposed antenna loading you provide. The tower design may be for a monopole (including stealth pole), self-support tower or guyed tower.
Foundation Design
Our engineers will provide a foundation design in accordance with either the Electronics Industry Association EIA/TIA-222-F 1996 Standard or the TIA-222-G-2 2009 Standard for the proposed antenna loading and tower design that you provide. The designs our team can create to suit the proposed structure include but are not limited to: a drilled shaft, pad and pier, or a mat type foundation.
Structural Analysis
Carpenter & Cross will perform a structural analysis of an existing tower and foundation as it currently stands for the existing, reserved, and/or proposed antenna loading you provide. The analysis will determine if the structure can support the antenna loading without requiring any structural modifications.
Structural Opinion Letter
A structural opinion letter may be provided when there is a minor change in antenna loading to a recently run structural analysis. The opinion letter may be provided when the code used for analysis has not changed and when the previous structural analysis shows sufficient additional capacity that we deem a structural analysis is not required.
Tower and Foundation Modification Design
When a structural analysis has determined that a tower does not meet the minimum requirements of the applicable TIA standard, we will design modifications to bring the structure with its proposed loading into code compliance.
Fall Radius Letter
Carpenter & Cross will analyze a proposed or existing structure to determine its fall radius. This letter can be used for jurisdictional or landlord approval.
